About the Integrative Health Institute

The Integrative Health Institute (IHI) is a modern and dynamic clinic, born from naturopathic philosophy and embodying team-driven healthcare.

Founded in 2008 by Drs Meghan Walker and Erin Wiley, IHI reflects a vision to create an urban health centre that is driven by a team of practitioners passionate about health promotion and illness prevention.

Since its inception, IHI has grown to become a full service integrative health clinic, with nine practitioners including naturopathic doctors, medical doctors, chiropractic doctors, massage therapists, a nutritionist, clinical counsellor and an osteopathic doctor.

Unlike other multi-disciplinary clinics however, IHI operates as a true integrative medical team. Regardless of which practitioners you are working with in the clinic, your clinicians will interact and communicate directly about your case. This model not only ensures the convenience of centrally located practitioners, but, more importantly, ensures that you receive true complimentary care drawing from the best of traditional and complimentary medical philosophies.

Just as important as the care you receive, the IHI space was designed to be equally warm and comforting. With four treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy suite and a fireplace-clad studio for yoga, classes, and seminars, there is a steady bustle of city dwellers moving seamlessly in and out of their respective appointments.

The waiting room itself feels more like a sanctuary than a busy hub of activity. Women and men readily relax in wide, breast feeding-friendly chairs sipping a cup of tea while awaiting their appointments.

Unlike any other clinic in the city, IHI strives to provide a place where people come to gain an empowered perspective on health, wellness and a proactive approach to living your best life.

Our Story

Children looking out from a bus. Dr. Meghan Walker with orphans in South Africa.Erin Wiley measuring the blood pressure of a young patient.

The photos above are from Meghan and Erin's time spent working with women and their families in rural South Africa.

Whether women are caring for their families in Africa or Canada there is a common need for self-nurture, education and the tools to make empowered health decisions.

The Integrative Health Institute was born from the shared vision of Drs. Meghan Walker and Erin Wiley who embrace the notion that empowered, healthy women lead to healthy families and healthy communities.

The Integrative Health Institute (IHI) philosophy was inspired through the experience of Meghan and Erin and the time they spent working with women and their families in rural Africa.

In this setting, it quickly became apparent that when women are well informed about health and disease prevention, their children and communities experience significantly fewer incidences of disease and illness.

Whether women are caring for their families in Africa or Canada there is a common need for self-nurture, education and the tools to make empowered health decisions. Women are role models to other women, to their families and to the young people around them. The amount of time and type of energy that women dedicate to themselves is the legacy of health they leave to their children.

The encompassing philosophy of IHI is that it is time for women to put themselves first.

The IHI experience is different from a conventional medical practice. It is integrative in its approach and innovative in its health care philosophy. Our team of practitioners will collaborate to ensure your concerns are addressed holistically and with an individualized approach. This includes the emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of your wellbeing.

The Integrative Health Institute combines the science of sound medical knowledge with intuition and creativity. We work collaboratively with our clients to find solutions that address the cause of their concerns.

In addition to working through the clinic, IHI also has outreach programs into our community. Speaking to schools, community groups and in the corporate setting is an important part of reaching out and working with women and young people. We offer individualized programs regarding health education and wellness issues.

We look forward to working with you. Book some time for yourself today.
